Rye Store & Coffee Bar
We opened our Rye Store in 2023. We love the creativity & spirit in Rye and being part of the thriving collection of independent stores. Our store is a grade 2 listed building that was built in the 15th century and was previously home to a bank. The original vault has been restored and is a treasured feature of our store. We are open every day from 10.30am to 5pm. Our times may vary during the winter months.
You can find us at 11A High St, Rye TN31 7JF
The Coffee Bar
Our coffee bar is open to serve plant based drinks while our store is open. We have a street access hatch and an outside bench to enjoy your drinks in the sunshine. Stop by for a coffee and say hi
Skylark Coffee
When we opened the coffee bar it was important for us to sell coffee from a brand that was aligned with our values. Skylark is the only speciality coffee brand that is 100% non-profit & 100% transparent in the world, making it the perfect choice for us as they insist on a fairer, more inclusive way to drink coffee and conserve nature.
Skylark Coffee sprang from a desire to produce extraordinary coffee while helping to repair both environmental damage and human exploitation — some of it inherent to the coffee trade. There Probat roaster spins at the foot of the South Downs on the edge of Brighton.
Workshops
We run Workshops in our store covering a variety of skills. It's a great way to share ideas and meet new people. We passionately believe that clothes retain their value and beauty for years so long as they are carefully maintained and we have learnt and developed many tricks to repair and re invent garments that may show signs of wear. We wanted to share some of these almost forgotten skills and with anyone who was interested in learning them to use on their own clothes.
In addition we have adopted a zero waste approach to the materials we use and we are always looking for inventive ways to re use scraps such as for patchworks that can be used in garments and home furnishing, also toys and novelties which was the inspiration behind our patchwork and toy making classes to utilise scraps and discarded items to reinvent and create objects to treasure for the future. See our courses below and read more about our workshops in Rye here.
