WORKSHOPS
When founding Les Animaux the aim was to create a brand that functioned outside the standard fashion industry where product is created with increasing regularity, almost immediately de valuing anything previously bought and owned. We passionately believe that clothes retain their value and beauty for years so long as they are carefully maintained, with this in mind we offer a complimentary life time repair service to our customers on any product they have bought from us and through this we have learnt and developed many tricks to repair and re invent garments that my show signs of wear and through this we wanted to spread this knowledge and share skills with anyone who was interested in learning some of these almost forgotten skills to use on their own clothes.
In addition we have adopted a zero waste approach to the materials we use and we are always looking for inventive ways to re use scraps, to print for business cards, price labels and patchworks that can be used in garments and home furnishing, also toys and novelties. Our patchwork and toy making classes are an opportunity to share this process with us, whilst meeting new people and also utilising scraps and discarded items you may have acquired in your own house to reinvent and create objects to treasure for the future.
Introduction To Quilting / 14th October 2025 / 10.30am (3hrs) - £46
During this three hour group workshop we will explore a no rules approach to get you started on your quilting journey
We will also look at the history of this craft which has stood the test of time and how it is still as relevant today for making usable practical items as well as beautiful pieces of textile art
You will leave the workshop with a small sample quilt which can be mounted into artwork or as a start of a bigger quilt as you continue to explore this wonderful practice, you will also leave with the skills to create many more quilts in the future
This workshop is suitable for all abilities including complete beginners in a relaxed and informal setting.
Introduction To Doll Making / 28th October 2025 / 10.30am (3 Hours) - £46
Together using simple hand stitching techniques and fabric scraps we will create doll that is truly unique to you…I say doll in loose terms as it could be anything from your imagination!I often create my dolls in-between other projects or a side project, as it is easy and small enough to keep tucked in a bag or pocket to add an odd stitch here and there!The beauty of this project is that it really doesn’t matter what sewing experience you have if any at all. It’s a lovely way to share ideas with likeminded people while creating something to be proud of.Be warned it is a very addictive…I have an extensive crew that I call my friends (I need to get out more!!) I have made them for my children and friends as tokens of luck, love, friendship and support.

Our Rye Store & Coffee Bar / 11A High St, Rye TN31 7JF
We opened our Rye Store in 2023. We love the creativity & spirit in Rye and being part of the thriving collection of independent stores. Our store is a grade 2 listed building that was built in the 15th century and was previously home to a bank. The original vault has been restored and is a treasured feature of our store.
The workshops will take place in our store, whilst the store is closed to customers, The store is spacious and full of natural light.
