VERDEN was founded by Charlotte Semler and Arabella Preston – the team behind VOTARY Skincare. VERDEN, Meaning ‘the world’ or ‘the earth’ in Danish, is a natural fragrance brand for bath, body and home that believes that the beauty of fragrance lies in the joy of the memories and emotions it evokes, and natural fragrance can re-establish our link to nature and our place within in. The brand roots itself in natural scents and self-care rituals to help us reconnect with happiness and wellbeing.
VERDEN products are vegan, and they ensure that their products are cruelty-free every step of the way. They also insist that every company that works for them has a cruelty-free policy.
Why we love VERDEN: Being based in Margate, a coastal town, we appreciate the value of breathing in the natural scents of the coast and the emotions it provokes, and we love that VERDEN products were conceived with this in mind. We also respect their commitment to sustainability. The plastic is made from post-consumer recycled PET, and they provide information on each product as to its sustainability. They are also members of 1% for the Planet, committing a portion of their annual revenue to supporting environmental causes and non-profits.
As a brand that makes our clothing in our studio in Margate, we value 100% of their manufacturing, and 90% of their supply chain is within the UK. This is a strategic sourcing decision taken by the company in order to reduce emissions through transportation. They choose to support medium and small businesses, such as a small family-owned business that manufactures their fragrance blends.
