Our name "Les Animaux" was founded in a humanist tradition of acceptance and inclusion, whatever your race, religion, gender, politics, sexual orientation or size. We are all "animals" and we inhabit the planet together and in a small way if we could create a safe place for people to come and know that they were included seems really important now more than ever. Les Animaux is a collection for people who reject conventional ideas and aesthetics, looking to present timeless pieces that are both sustainable and highly individual.
Margate Store & Studio
Opening our Margate store and studio in 2021 marked a new beginning for Les Animaux.. We are in the heart of Margate's Old Town and love being part of the thriving community of independant stores and its artist . The space has allowed us to interact directly with our customers and serve their needs with timeless products, made entirely by us in a low-impact, cruelty-free environment. We believe in total transparency in our production — quite literally, with an open-curtain policy between the shop and the studio. It’s here in Margate that we design, make, and hand-dye our collection.
Now more than ever, we believe our stores should be safe spaces — places where people can come, feel welcome, and know they are included.

Rye Store & Coffee Bar
We love the creativity and spirit of Rye, and being part of its thriving community of independent stores. We opened our Rye store in 2023, within a Grade II listed building dating back to the 15th century and formerly home to a bank. The original vault has been carefully restored and remains a treasured feature of the space.
Our Rye store is also home to our plant-based coffee bar and serves as a space where we host our workshops.We are open every day from 10.30am to 5pm. Our times may vary during the winter months.

Our Process
Our collection is designed to be "season-less", meaning any piece of our collection can be worn all year round and will last you a lifetime and we passionately believe that clothes retain their value and beauty for years so long as they are carefully maintained. The focus for Les Animaux as a brand is to produce sustainable and conscious production so that in our small way we are tackling the global glut of discarded fast fashion. We are totally transparent in our production (we literally have an open curtain policy between the shop and the studio) we hope that you can trust that we are doing everything we can to uphold the highest ethical standards.
